DOMINION came out of a combination of two influences:
the USC School of Cinema and Television's 508 project
(a short film, no dialogue allowed, 16mm B&W)
and the California Instutute of the Arts' production of Bad Behavior
(and my study of it's writer/director, Richard Foreman)
DOMINION is both Film and Theatre
(The actor performs live along with a short (5:33) Black & White 16mm film)
DOMINION was created through a purely organic process of writing
and rewriting and rewriting, with no intention of creating a recognizable
story or character; instead I focused on a specific feeling:
Self-Domination
DOMINION is not "about" anything.
It is, rather, a rumination on what we do to ourselves as we make choices
which force us into psychological corners.
