Overview:  The entire project was shot on green screen, allowing us to separate the actors from their surroundings using high-end computer software. We then inserted a carefully-designed “motion collage” of still photos we shot on location in the Finger Lakes region of New York and in Ireland. This combination of gorgeous landscapes, iconic period structures, expressionistic construction and compelling performances give Seven Swans’ viewers a much deeper, more visceral understanding of the journey our heroine must endure than traditional filmmaking techniques.

There are over 600 visual effects shots - nearly twice as many as Episode I

Every frame was shot in front of a green screen

The backgrounds are all collaged still photos,
some for realism and some for expressionism

The swan is a custom-built animatronic puppet

All the effects were done by
two people in only 9 months
